Native English Teachers
English is a global language and it is increasingly being used in various parts of the world as a medium of teaching children in schools and colleges across the world. Though English is accepted as a useful language across the world, there are numerous challenges to both teaching and learning English in regions that have a diverse cultural and linguistic background. Teaching English in different regions of the worlds, and especially in the Middle Eastern and Gulf regions where the socio-cultural differences are prominent from the Western World, is even more difficult. There is therefore a need for both standardization of the English and its teaching methods as well as the inclusion of local and regional nuances in the language while teaching to the natives. Development of English as a Global Language
The using of language is a social act, language is the means of communication. Social change contributes to a change in status of a language. Medium can become the official language of a country when it is adopted as the mother tongue and used by all government and public institutions. Finally, language gains a ultimate global status as it receives a general role that is recognised around the world. English, however, did not achieve global status by way of one or two variables. Several factors contributed to the process and arrival of English as a global language. These factors are part of a slowly evolving phenomenon that parallel the social changes experienced by numerous cultures over many eras. As with the impact of most, if not all-contributing factors leading to the trend of the globalisation of English, the impact on English has depended upon who has the power over such a factor. So while the anti-prescriptivists say we should leave the language alone, people do have to be accountable for what they do with the language. View details

Language Variety
Funny how we take some things for granted. For instance the language we use is a veritable bundle of mysteries. But how many of us give language more than just cursory thought. Only a few of us realize that its exact origin is hazy at best. And although most of the major languages evolved from a single source, some of them do not even have traces of commonality. This is because all languages are in constant state of flux, and this continuous change is the reason for dialects and even new languages. In monolingual societies people don't have much choice. But in some bilingual and multilingual situations, the language we choose is governed by social and economic factors. The British Empire may have reduced in size, but not so British influence. English has taken roots in so many parts of the world that it has become the most significant language of communication between nations. And, globalization has made this common thread between nations stronger. As a consequence of this, knowledge of English in any of its myriad forms - is often the yardstick by which literacy is measured. It also adds significance to an individuals identity. View details
